I thought an update caused the drivers to be corrupted or perhaps didn't respond well with the system, since i hear a lot of things about updates breaking things, didn't thought they would disable it behind the scenes. Glad I could help! The new update automatically turns it off without asking the user and it's mildly infuriating to say the least. I must of disabled it because i didn't want microsoft to listen to everything, but i didn't knew this also disabled it for everything that i do. Oh my god that worked! you are doing god's work! Settings -> Privacy -> Microphone -> make sure apps access to the microphone. Not muted or anything, and looks like it SHOULD work. if you can think of anything, PLEASE help When I check the mic in the sound/device manager, it shows up as functioning 100.
Pretty much every solution out there, I have tried. Does not register, no matter what I have tried. Microsoft is obviously to be blamed for this. Plugged it in, and tried recording it with Audacity. Glad to have you on TomsHardware nonetheless.
